I was seconded as a company intelligence corporal because of my background in signwriting, design and printing. I prepared the maps with detailed information for operations.

In my downtime I produced some humorous signage for the C Company lines. I painted a mushroom on our company boozer. C Company had been given the nickname ‘The Mushroom Company’ – fed on bullshit and kept in the dark. To this day our symbol remains the mushroom.
