The Tunnel Rats had the highest casualty rate. The chances of us getting killed or wounded were 40 per cent. I had three close mates killed over there; two from my section. That was hard to come to grips with. I still go to a psychiatrist every eight weeks. And I’m completely claustrophobic now. If I even go under my house I get sweaty palms.
